Fuchsinophilic degeneration of myocardium in patients with intracranial lesions.
نویسنده
چکیده
Fuchsinophilic myocardial degeneration is described in 12 per cent of I69 patients dying of strokes, head injuries, brain tumours, and intracranial infection. This may have resulted from excessive secretion of catecholamines, after sympathetic stimulation, and three possible methods of preventing such damage are suggested. There is no evidence fro;n a study of the incidence of subendocardial haemorrhage, peptic lesions, and pulmonary oedema that increased activity of the autonomic nervous system caused the heart damage. The significance of this lesion, and of focal myocytolysis, to the recipient of a heart transplant is discussed.

This study briefly reviews the heart abnormalities in diverse intracranial pathologies, including strokes, spontaneous and traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage and intracranial hemorrhage, and presents the results of a one-year prospective study of heart abnormalities in patients with moderate to severe head injuries and subarachnoid hemorrhage. Different abnormalities such as: QT -interval, T...

Fixed myocardial defects in both stress and rest images, could be artifactual as a result of soft tissue attenuation. To increase specificity and identify the false positive results, we used gated technique to evaluate the wall motion and wall thickening as an index to differentiate real ischemic lesions from artifactual defects. 93 patients were studied. In 46 patients (48.8%) fixed perf...
متن کاملHypothalamic and myocardial lesions after subarachnoid haemorrhage.
The hypothalamus and myocardium of 12 patients who had died after a subarachnoid haemorrhage, and of six patients who had died from other intracranial pathology were examined. Only in the patients who had died from subarachnoid haemorrhage were histological lesions found in both the hypothalamus and myocardium. The possible significance of these findings is discussed with particular reference t...

Background: Lichen planus is a mucocutaneous inflammatory disease with adnexal involvement. Pathologic studies were commonly used for definite diagnosis. Hyperkeratosis, hyper granulosis, acanthosis, elongation of rete ridges, basal cell degeneration and bank like lymph infiltration are 6 histopathological findings in diagnosis of lichen planus. Materials and methods: In this research 200 path...

Background: Unlike quantified MRI, no correlation has been stated between radiologic findings and the clinical signs in patients with knee osteoarthritis. This study evaluates the relationship between quantified clinical signs including pain, restriction of movement, stiffness and structural changes with MRI and plain radiography findings. Methods: Eighty patients with knee osteoarthr...
